Katie Leung is donning a new role in an episode of the long running British television drama “Poirot.” The Sunday Mail reports that Miss Leung is set to film an episode entitled “Cat Amongst The Pigeons,” an adaptation of one of Agatha Christie’s ‘Poirot’ mystery novels. According to the article, Katie will be playing ‘Hsui Tai, a pupil at a private all-girls school who helps the legendary sleuth solve a murder at the school and the mystery of a kidnapped Middle Eastern princess’ for the drama set to be broadcast on ITV1. A spokesperson for the program said of the choice to cast Katie in the role:
“We’re absolutely delighted to have Katie on board. She’s a very talented actress and a great addition to the cast. She helps Poirot spot a couple of clues which let him piece it all together.”
This is the first role for Katie since her part in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire as the character of Cho Chang. The “Cat Amongst The Pigeons” to be broadcast next year.
Katie Leung, who plays Cho Chang in the HP movies, has donated this piece of art for a charity auction today in Edinburgh, Scotland. The Scotsman reports Katie donated this piece to benefit the Prince’s Trust Charity. Katie said of her work:
“The meaning behind my drawing shows the two birds encouraging and supporting each other even though life may seem hard, boring or monotonous; hence the plain background. But as long as we help each other out and become motivated and hopeful, despite the negativity surrounding us, we will find happiness within ourselves – and this is conveyed through the birds’ vibrant colours.”
In a new interview with Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix actor Katie Leung discusses working on the new movie and what she has gone through.
Katie talks about being chosen for Cho and the new movie:
My favourite thing about playing Cho was being able to be popular. She’s popular among the boys and the girls and, um, that’s not something that happens in real life.
While a report of a set visit with Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe and director David Yates, all discuss the movie and certain scenes.
Dan on the remaining movies:
It will be very strange, but it will be quite liberating in a way. If there were going to be an infinite number of Harry Potters, I don’t think I could do it. It’s nice, knowing that there’s seven. I’ve always thought that’s a definite goal to try and hit.

Katie on kissing Daniel:
Of course I was nervous about it. I blame it on the crew because they made it impossible for me to forget. Every day, somebody would come up and say things like ‘Are you looking forward to it?’ Or Euwww, it’s going to be really wet!He [Dan] admitted that he was nervous too, which made me feel better because I was a bag of nerves. We joked around, saying ‘Have you brushed your teeth?’ and ‘Have you eaten your mints?’ So we were much more relaxed when we came to do it.
Katie mentions her favorite scene:
I’m not fond of nosey people, so I loved the one in The Curse of the Half-Blood Prince. It is called Muffliato, and you cast it on people who are trying to listen in. It fills the ears of those near the witch or wizard with a buzzing that can’t be heard by anyone else. It would be great to be able to do that one.
