Confirmed new scene for ‘Half-Blood Prince’

confirmed-new-scene-for-half-blood-prince

With filming currently ongoing for the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince movie, producer David Barron has confirmed that there will be a new scene added to the movie featuring the Burrow.

We don’t often have things that aren’t in the book.

But this was brought in because Jo (Rowling) was able throughout the quite lengthy book to keep dropping little snippets of what was happening in the outside world-there’d be people reading newspapers and talking about how somebody’s parents had been killed or somebody had been withdrawn from school because their parents didn’t think it was safe. And we’re made aware that the Muggle world is also experiencing these disasters, but thinks they are disasters rather than the work of Voldemort.

The book is peppered with those moments, but we couldn’t do that quite so easily in the film. So (the extra scene) comes in the middle of the film and it just reminds us the world is no longer a safe place. Even in what would normally be considered the safe haven of the Burrow, nobody’s safe. I think you’ll like it. It’s quite effective.

Emma Watson denies rumors of dating

The Hermione Granger actress has updated her official site, wishing fans a Happy Valentine’s and addressing some false UK tabloid reports recently concerning her.

“This week is Fashion Week and although I have been filming during the day I managed to make it to the Burberry and Vanity Fair party at the National Portrait gallery. The photographs were so beautiful and I was chuffed with the book of all them that they gave me.

I met Christopher Bailey (the designer which was really exciting, I also met Johnny Borrell (who is modeling for Burberry at the moment) and went on to PPQ in the same cab. I’d never met him before so that was great as I’m a big Razorlight fan.

But goodness, I am really going to have to watch who I stand next to from now on! Maybe I should stand next to Orlando Bloom and then we can be said to be ‘dating’!”

No Fleur Delacour for ‘HBP’

In a new interview with MTV, Clemence Poesy says she has not been asked back to reprise her role as Fleur Delacour (aka Phlegm) for the sixth Harry Potter film. Indicating she has not read the final three books (including OotP which is now on DVD) and hopes to read them on her next vacation, she is quoted as saying:

Somebody already told me the end of ‘Order of the Phoenix,’ and I was like, ‘You’re ruining everything!’” Poésy laughed, since she plans to read the remaining books on her next vacation “back to back.” Still, she can’t resist asking for one one spoiler: “Has Harry done some bad things?”

She is uncertain if her character will be back as well for the film of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, but recently was reunited with some fellow Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire actors for her recent movie, In Bruges which also stars Brendan Gleeson (Mad Eye Moody) and Ralph Fiennes (Lord Voldemort). In this new film, “Ralph Fiennes, who as Voldemort is always trying to kill Harry, now playing a hitman boss named …Harry. “Isn’t that funny?” exclaimed Poésy. “We didn’t tease [Ralph] about it, but maybe we will now. I had met Brendan before, and he was really sweet. He liked scaring kids with his costume, showing it to all the extras, who were like, ‘How do you do that with your eye?”Not that Poésy isn’t above scaring the kids as well. “It would be nice of you not to write that,” she teased. “The kids think I have powers, so I can say, ‘Be careful, otherwise I can turn you into a frog! I’ve learned.’ So don’t tell anyone I don’t have witchcraft powers.”

‘Potter’ producers talk ‘Deathly Hallows’ movie; Radcliffe dismisses Spielberg as director

potter-producers-talk-deathly-hallows-movie-radcliffe-dismisses-spielberg-as-director

In an new interview with Harry Potter producers David Barron and David Heyman both refuse to rule out the possibility of splitting seventh and final movie, The Deathly Hallows, into two films.

Mr. Barron states:

We are still discussing it. The announcement will be made hopefully in the not-too-distant future, with regards to the way seven shapes up.
The only negative of splitting the book into two films is that people could possibly perceive it as being one last chance at cashing in. But the real positive, if we were to do that, would be that we wouldn’t have quite the battle we always have of ‘How do you compress all that book into just over two hours of screen time?’

While Mr. Heyman says:

A couple of people have expressed interest, people have gotten a few calls and a few emails, but it’s still a year away.
We won’t start filming ’til February next year. So it hasn’t really gone bananas yet. We’ve got thoughts, and I’m sure something will be announced in the not-too-distant future.

Also, during last nights BAFTA’s event, actor Daniel Radcliffe dismissed rumors that Steven Spielberg will direct the seventh movie:

I have no idea how that rumour started or where it came from. It’s not true. How’s that for a definitive answer?
It’s absolute rubbish that Spielberg is directing the final film. It’s not true. There’s absolutely no foundation in that at all.

And says this about the currently filming of the film:

We’re getting through it alright. I’m really enjoying it. We’re about six months in and we’ve only got four more to go.
